The Telegraph
I've just read the headlines on "The Telegraph" that Liz kendal has been forced to shelve £3billion Benefits cuts. I'm no Telegraph reader, and I'm not seeing the entire thing as its behind a pay wall. I did see however there were hundreds of comments, also I can't get to read those. Would be interesting to see their…

Pip reform
This appalling Government seems hell bent on reducing PIP and in a hurry to do so. Surely though they would need to pass legislation then introduce change first of all to new claimants then the existing caseloads? How quickly could they move so that someone with 4 years left on a 10 year award who without these changes…

LBC Radio + mental health

In 1988 people were going through the same ordeal
I found this clip on Youtube, It's funny they just keep on overhauling the benefit system but it never seems to get better. Of course "Transitional Protection" is always being used. In this episode of the Advice shop - The Great Benefits Shake-Up and no one really wins. Shame they never did this again for the current shake…

Jeremy Vine
Something should be done about this awful man, at least once a week on his tv show he belittles benefit claimants (today sickness benefits in particular) for lighthearted entertainment. It's worse than political discussion where the politicians are at least making (usually misinformed) points. It's verging on freak shows…

Pip aaaesments etc.
I am concerned we do not live in a fair society anymore. Certain groups are given adequate amounts of money and we are not We are harassed by this government and I know the Tories were the same but the Labour government is meant to be humanitarian by default. As a disabled person who has an inherited condition I am…

Thoughts on this image?
I came across this article, and although it definitely isn't the sentiment of the article itself, I'm a bit uncomfortable with this image showing people "trapped" inside wheelchair symbols. The article I'd definitely class as the social model of disability in sentiment, but this image just seems the opposite - wheelchairs…

Official thread: ‘Get Britain Working’ White Paper released Tuesday 26th November
thought I’d get this thread started early as I’ll imagine the papers will be publishing significant leaks later tonight From the sounds of things upcoming welfare reforms (such as wca and pip) won’t be covered in this white paper (at least in major detail) - past quotes from the gov suggest welfare reform reveal launch…

Trigger Warning topic (Assisted dying bill)
Remove if not allowed. Are we allowed to discuss the assisted dying bill on here? It's in the news today about Canada. In Canada they intend to include mental illness from 2027. It's quite obvious to me that if we pass anything through, gradually things change and get added by various governments. I have huge concerns over…
