Do you use a calendar?

I try every single year to get organised. Calendars, diaries, notebooks and it never works. I'll happily spend hours filling in important dates and stuff and then never look at it again and miss all the dates and appointments. I believe it's to do with ADHD but not entirely sure.

How do you stay organised? Do you use a calendar and if so, where do you put it and how do you remember to check it??

I normally keep all my dates in my head because I hate keeping track of things but this year I have bought a diary and a calendar.

I always think I can keep them in my head and do it quite well but end up messing them up and forgetting stuff. I'm yet to find a way that works

Yes we use a family planner calendar and even our furry baby aka our dog has his own column for his upcoming vets and grooming appointments.

We find having a family calendar very useful.

My main method is by using an excel document with a tab for each month (followed by 2 digits to represent the year).  This is populated with with everything: leave dates, appointments, bin collection days, birthdays, car to garage and so on.  I`ve been doing this since Oct14, so I`ve got a history of events going back just over 9 years (and this history has been useful in the past).

My milk man gives me a two sided calendar every year (got the 2023 version two days ago), this is on the side of my fridge/freezer.

I am organisation mad lol. I use an Erin Condren diary which is my splurge / treat each year. I also use sectioned notebooks, online calendars, social media schedulers and bullet journals 😂

There is a huge planner community online, if you ever want to delve into it more. So many YouTube videos!

Every year I have a wall calendar to remind me of which month and day it is, but don't like to deface it by writing on it.

Important dates are stored in the calendar on my phone & laptop.  If it's something time critical, I'll set a reminder as well.  I switch on the laptop around 9am every single day so won't miss any reminders!

Each week I also write a rough list of daily tasks on a scrap of paper so I don't forget even the most basic things that week!

Yes!  every year & buy a calendar with a diary from "The W...ks" and I use them!  I hang the calendar up in the kitchen and cross off the days.  The diary goes in my handbag.  It's so handy.  Trouble is I buy them before Christmas, then they reduce them the next day!  LOL

I send emails to all 7 of my email addresses that I check daily to remind me of appointments. A calendar and diary are no good to me as I forget to look at them, but I always check my emails.

I can't stop thinking about these now I've googled. AHHHHH
I know it'll be another thing I get and don't use though. Must. resist. temptation.

I actually really understand this. It does feel wrong to write on them sometimes and when I do, I spend ages making sure it's perfect. I use coloured pens that match the pages and doesn't look out of place and then inevitably something won't go to plan and will go wrong and I'll not want to use it any more as it doesn't look 'right'. :D
I've tried on phone and laptop as I use both each day but I just don't look at them. Reminders I seem to switch off without acknowledging :s

Yes and a diary, back in the day they were two of the products I sold to retailers and believe it or not suppliers will be taking orders from retailers for calendars and diaries for 2024 from next week onwards.
That is a long lead time!

Ooh that's a good idea. I do check my emails - although I get so much spam I may miss them. I'm glad I'm not alone in forgetting to look at diaries and calendars.

That would be a good idea but I never look at my emails
