It's the assessment part that causes the issues. My wife has had quite a few with each one being approx 45mins in length. Remember they will be watching you from the moment you walk into the assessment centre. The last one she walked into the centre without me helping her (she's like that - very independent) and then went on to say that I help her walking when out shopping etc.
She is as honest as the day is long but no matter how she tried to explain the when's, why's and how  she was viewed as a serial liar!

It is terrible the stress and anxiety they put us through . Well i am not good at face to face and put it on the application form , it is also on my PIP award that was why i had a phone call and paper assessment . I will see how it goes , but they will find it hard getting me to an assessment centre .

And neither is my wife - she has an attitude that there is nothing wrong with her - so says she, her medical advisers differ however.
The assessment is there so that the applicant can demonstrate the need for a Blue Badge. How they would manage that by way of a telephone call I don't know.
Besides the Council would be within their rights to refuse the application if the evidence is not there.

The councils need to look at this . You're disabled under the Equality Act 2010 if you have a physical or mental impairment that has a 'substantial' and 'long-term' negative effect on your ability to do normal daily activities
