Any advice on this pls
if you just got awarded LCWRA and applied for PIP but got refused that could DWP look at LCWRA and then send out another review for that ?  Or even vice versa
i know they’re 2 separate benefits but could this happen at all ?
TIA

Hiya,  I very much doubt that they would do that as the two benefits have different criteria.
How are you getting on?  Have you got your LCWRA?  Do you have an application in for PIP?

Been quite bad last 2 days and in bed not wanting to go out . Did send my UC50 last week , i haven’t even started on pip and it’s due back in 5 days ( they gave me extra 2 weeks too ).
I’ll probably need to speak to HCP for both and I really can’t deal with it, I get really angry when i feel judged and it causes rage , I don’t want to end up shouting and screaming at them . My suicide ideation has been really bad too.
    How have you been ?

Ok thx Hannah . I’ve had suicide ideation since I was a teenager but it’s just got quite bad last few days coz I’m feeling really overwhelmed with life. I always manage to get through the bad moments but they’re a bit more than usual this time. I’ve isolated myself from everyone and everything, my only salvation was going out and cycling sometimes coz it’s the only time I felt free but can’t do that atm .

I'm really sorry to hear you've been suffering.  I think filling out these awful forms can be very triggering. Please keep me posted about how you are doing.

I only just sent my UC50 in a few days ago and I became suicidal during the process of filling in the form and I actually made suicide preparations.  In the end The Samaritans persuaded me to give life another chance.

Are you getting any help from the Mental Health Team at present?  In my experience they are of not much use (at least in my area) but they should still at least be checking on you and seeing if you need any medication.  Did you send in evidence with your UC50 form?  I sent them three psychiatrist assessments (which gave my diagnoses, brief details of which descriptors I can't do), my Care Plan from Social Services and evidence of prescriptions as well as a letter from a Support Worker.  I think that was about it.

I've just received confirmation from my landlord that my rent is increasing by an additional £380 per month.  I already have a monthly shortfall of £350 which I have to pay out of my PIP.   If I pay the additional £380 a month I would have £5 a week left to cover food, electricity, broadband, water rates, gas.  It just doesn't add up.

It's unlikely that this will happen.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Life is a real struggle isn’t it ? An extra £380 pm is unbelievable, absolutely shocking . Will you ask Council for DHP or try and find somewhere cheaper .
My living situation is really bad , got mould / damp and when it rains the rain comes in all through my windows so I’ve got planting sheets hanging there to try and stop it , all these things really just exacerbate MH issues . A stable home is a right NOT a luxury . I hope you’ll get your situation sorted 🙏
I sent some old psychiatric letters and therapist letters with mine, sent my repeat meds list too . I’m in counselling atm but didn’t even bother to ask her coz she’s useless . I agree , CMHT are useless , the last time someone called all the said was “ keep taking your medication “

I can’t remember if you said you were diagnosed with EUPD but it’s really horrible coz of how erratic you can feel . Constantly change of moods is exhausting

Why haven't you been able to get out and cycle?
When I get overwhelmed/ stressed I start to feel dizzy- it’s so horrible . Too risky to try and cycle when I feel dizzy , although it’s probably my panic disorder , it just feels like I’m gonna collapse .

Hopefully they will have an answer for you to help more :) Then you'll be out cycling, hopefully just as the nice weather comes in! Which means stopping for an ice cream!

You are so right:  a stable home is not a luxury.  We should have to be in good health and able to work in order to fulfil the basic need of a secure, stable home.  We did not CHOOSE to be unwell.

I've been searching for a cheaper flat and I've found a couple of flats that are £50 a month cheaper.  But when you factor in the cost of putting down a security deposit  (at least £1800) and the cost of a a removals company at around £500 at least  (I have my own furniture so it's not a matter of just getting a mate to help out with a small van), I wouldn't really be saving anything would I.

I am going to apply for DHP.  I'm going to talk to the council's private rentals officer.  It would be cheaper for the council to help me stay where I am rather than them having to sort me out with emergency accommodation.

What medication do they give you if you don't mind me asking?  The medication they've given me isn't helping at all.  I'm on an antipsychotic even though the psychiatrist says I'm not and have never been psychotic.  I'm also on an anti-anxiety med.

I don't have EUPD but I do have Complex PTSD and D.I.D.  Some of our symptoms are probably similar. One of my friends has a diagnosis of EUPD (it used to be called Borderline Personality Disorder, right?) and to our surprise she is actually getting a lot of help from the same Mental Health Team that I'm with.  My area seems to take personality disorders seriously and they give my friend very long-term twice weekly therapy and a support worker and various other support.  When it comes to PTSD and Complex PTSD they are just not interested though.

I've heard of quite a few cases where people diagnosed with EUPD actually turn out to have Complex PTSD as well.

I’ve also been looking for other places and the rental in SE is absolutely atrocious, £1400 for a double room with a corner for cooking and a little makeshift box containing a loo / shower in my area .
The Council should absolutely help you stay where you are , you really have to send them everything you have about how distressing all this is for you and keep on at them .
Honestly , when we have a stable home , a foundation , it makes dealing with the daily struggles that MH issues bring that little bit less severe.
I’m on 3 different MH meds and sleeping pills , exactly like you I have an anti psychotic and they should never have put me on it because I don’t have psychotic issues although when I’m overwhelmed I can get paranoid.

I think I did read that there are similarities between CPTSD and BPD too. You’re right we didn’t choose to be unwell , my god if I could wake up in the morning and not feel like at any moment something terrible will happen- the constant fear of everything is gonna go wrong is absolute hell .  I did have long term MBT for EUPD ( it was called BPD ) but in all honesty it really wasn’t effective , the therapist was absolutely terrible and made me worse .
I think you mentioned you pay for private therapy ? If I get any pip that’s where mine will be going . NHS and MH don’t go well together .

Yes.  I had 9 months of EMDR (trauma therapy) on the NHS that was really very good.  The psychologist who did the EMDR told me I was making good progress but that I needed at least another year of therapy to be anywhere near recovering BUT that the NHS is not allowed to give any more therapy as I already had the maximum number of sessions.  He said I could apply to join their waiting list again in THREE YEARS from now.  Or I should continue the work with a private therapist.  I spend my PIP on the private therapy and really it's a God send.  But with the £380 rent increase I would not be able to afford to continue therapy.  Imagine giving up something that's essential to your health just to indulge a landlord's greed.  In my case it's a large block of flats owned by a large company who own 100s of millions worth of assets.  It's not like they are a struggling buy to let landlord who needs to increase the rent to cover mortgage costs.  They are just raising the rent by this amount because they CAN.

I just discovered we can earn around £370 a month from work without losing our benefits.  I might try to see if I can find anyone willing to employ a mentally ill, housebound person.
