To curtain or not to curtain
My patio and side window currently have blinds but they let in a lot of light still and are creeeeeepppy at night. The wonderful @Lou67 has talked me into having curtains too but I'm confused how best to do it.
My lounge is like a long oblong and one of the end walls is basically all window. Do I get multiple sets of curtains or just like … one giant rail across and one set of curtains covering two windows? Two sets might look too much but one seems weird.
This is my very artistic drawing of my wall and how it looks. Would you go for one set of curtains for the window patio doors and another for the window to the right??

That is some top quality art there @Biblioklept !
Personally, I'd go with two curtain rails there, or it might make the room look smaller, plus it'll give you more control over light levels.0 -
I would also choose 2 seperate rails and 2 pairs of curtains like your drawing. It would make it easier to manage and seperate if you want to close one but not another.

Thanks @Albus_Scope, I think I could make a living with my art skills 💪 Maybe I should have been an artist 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks @rubin16, two sets of curtains it is!
I'm just worried that the small bit of wall between the two windows will look weird as when the curtains are open both will be squished there 🤔
There is a possibility I'm overthinking this though, no one will be seeing my curtains but me! 😁

I'd go for 3 curtains there. Two that meet in the middle of the patio doors as normal. And then just a single one for the small window, that can be pulled all the way to right when open.

I would love big windows like that. Yes definitely 2 separate curtain poles, if the smallest off the 2 windows would maybe be to small for a pair off curtains I would put one curtain up and tie it back, I have magnetic tie backs on my bedroom curtains and you could just use something like that.You could buy 2 pair put one on each curtain that way the light will get into your lounge but when you want to block the light take the tie backs off. The good thing with the magnetic ones you don’t need anything on your wall so no holes.

@OverlyAnxious
Hi sorry just noticed your post yes that’s fine exactly what I mean, I’m not great at explaining things right lol I hope your doing good.1 -
Thank you @OverlyAnxious!!! it seems so obvious now but it just didn't even cross my mind to only have three 😍I was obsessing over the fact two pairs of curtains would look weird, especially with the middle ones bunched together 😅
Thank you @Lou67! I love the look of those magnetic tie backs, so much easier than the original ones and they look really nice! I haven't decided on curtains yet but already ordered the tie backs 😅😎
I'm no good at visual planning and end up overthinking stuff until I don't do anything, so I'm really glad I asked you all ❤️

@Biblioklept
Aww that’s great glad you liked the tie backs I really preferred them when I got them. ❤️1 -
I'd definitely go with the two poles. One big pole would otherwise have to hold a lot of weight and positioning the centre holding bracket would look all out of balance with the windows. Great idea about the single curtain and who can resist a lovely time back!!

Can I just say I'm impressed by the level of effort we've all put into this, artistically and intellectually.
I'm not even being sarcastic I find it pretty nice.
I'd go with the one pole I think, as everyone as has already said and given great reasons for. That way you can also decide to maybe keep the small one open for a little light but not the big window.
The curtains should also help with insulation in the winter a little. It won't be much, but they'll keep heat in better than blinds at least! I think @OverlyAnxious does make a great point about only needing the one side for the smaller window. Though, now that I think of it, I can't think of every seeing just a single curtain for sale. I imagine somewhere must do it.1
