Do you ever listen to music and a song comes on that just hits different, and sums up how you're feeling or whatever??

Find and share a song that explains how you're feeling at this very moment

Mine is: Alanis Morisette - Hand in my pocket

♪♫"I'm broke, but I'm happy

I'm poor, but I'm kind

I'm short, but I'm healthy, yeah

I'm high, but I'm grounded

I'm sane, but I'm overwhelmed

I'm lost, but I'm hopeful, baby" ♫♪

Particularly the first and last two lines! ❤️

@Biblioklept I love this question! I'm wracking my brains to think of an appropriate song. When I think of one I'll be back!

I love Alanis Morissette. Jagged Little Pill is an incredible album.

I'm not a massive fan of the genre any more because it's like a really shouty/screamy heavy metal song and you probably won't even make out the words he's saying 😂 but …

The Sound of Truth by As I Lay Dying

The band are all Christian and the song is about questioning their religion and whether it's right to just believe the popular held opinions that are just assumed to be right without any challenge; but I apply it to like society and how people like me who question and try to understand things are often vilified just because we want to understand and not blindly follow

Yeah, I couldn't really make it out so thanks for the synopsis 😂

I think it's good to do your own research and question things. I like to find things out for myself too rather than just listen to everyone else.

@Rachel_Scope I think that's a good attitude. I find often when I am interested in someone's opinion, and question them because I want to know more, they treat me as an opponent or a disagreer and that's absolutely not true - I just want to learn more about another point of view

It upsets me more than it should I think 😆

    @Biblioklept this is my song.

Why is this my song well I decided enough was enough and decided to remove the most toxic person from my life my sister.

This is even my ringtone on my phone to remind me to never allow anyone who makes me feel totally worthless in my life ever again. I can honestly say I have the best people ever in my life ❤️ and I'm so grateful they allowed me the time to make my choices as I know how difficult it was for them to sit back and say nothing and having to remain silent how she treated me.

    I'm a girl with a new face
And a life that's been changed.

I was a little bit lost, but I'm not anymore

I was a little bit hurt, but I'm not anymore

I was a little left out, but I'm not anymore

'Cause the tears fell down, but they don't anymore

I was a little messed up, but I'm not anymore

I was a little lucked out, but I'm not anymore

I was a little far gone, but I'm not anymore

Yeah, it's alright now, baby, I got the cure.

Knowing When to walk away is Wisdom, being able is courage, walking away with your head held high is dignity.

Oh, I like this thread! I'm not massively into music, but I definitely have certain types of music I play with different moods! I'm not sure what mood I'm in right now though 😅

They/Them, however they are no wrong pronouns with me so whatever you feel most comfortable with

I have found a song! I'm going with David Bowie - Changes

"Still don't know what I was waitin' for
And my time was runnin' wild
A million dead end streets and
Every time I thought I'd got it made
It seemed the taste was not so sweet"

I've recently changed my career to something completely new after waiting years thinking I was in the right job but never really loving what I did. It wasn't the career path I believed it to be so I finally took the plunge!

@Biblioklept  This is a good question.

There are so many songs that I could choose, but the one I will go with is 'Golden' by Fall Out Boy.

I like how it starts off quiet then builds up as the song progresses.

I listen to a lot of music and hear so many of these. It's weird because my life is fundamentally different to anyone else that I've come across so far. Yet it seems that so many of the thoughts inside my brain are still identical to those of other people!

Here's a one that feels very relevant to me this week! The Wombats - Moving to New York.

"I put one foot forward and ended up 30 yards back"

And more generally I feel like the lyrics to this are still as relevant now as they were 35 years ago! Coldcut - People Hold On.

    Everybody's looking for a meaning
    Everybody's doing their own thing
    And nobody's solving the problem
    Ain't nobody helping each other

    Some people give into fear
    Some people give into hunger
Some of us live for the future
    And some of us wonder

Givin' into life, givin' into love
    Maybe there's enough for everyone
Givin' into hope, and into trust
    Maybe there's enough for everyone

    People hold on
    Don't do yourself wrong
    People hold on
    We've got to be strong
    People hold on

    Everybody's getting frustrated
Why should we live with this hatred
We've all dancin' on a thin line
They're makin' out we're having a good time
So who's gonna give us the answer
    Sister and brother

Givin' into life, givin' into love
    Maybe there's enough for everyone

    Today's feeling for me:

Jimmy Eat World - The Middle

"Hey, don't write yourself off yet
It's only in your head, you feel left out
    Or looked down on

    Just try your best
    Try everything you can
And don't you worry what they tell themselves
    When you're away"

@Biblioklept I haven't listened to this song in ages! Thanks for reminding me of it.

@FallOutBoyfan99 How did I know yours would be a Fall Out Boy song 😂 I'm going to give it a listen.

@OverlyAnxious I love Moving to New York. Gets me feeling pumped up. I'm listening to it now and dancing in my chair!

I've started a discussion about trying to build a Community Playlist (not trying to steal your great idea @Biblioklept 😉) and wondered if you'd add some to it? I'm new here and would love to get to know everyone's music tastes.

Feel free to add these to my community playlist that I linked in my last post. I'm adding everything to a playlist that I can listen to whilst I work with you lovely lot!

Aww some amazing songs on here. I have a few favourites but one that stays with me for a few different reasons.

For a long time I thought I was stuck in an abusive marriage with nowhere to go but I realised after a long time if I just take it one step and one day at a time I will get there.

Step by step by Whitney Houston

Sorry I don’t know how to upload the video from YouTube I’m hopeless lol
