UC Review Time to Complete
Got the dreaded message on my journal.
Can you please share what kind of processing times they take once you have sent them all?
I guess there is a phone call down the road as well, but once you give/tell them all they need, how long does it take to get the "complete" message?

Unfortunately the time taken for these checks varies we can't really answer that question on here.
It will depend for example on the workload of the staff member doing your check.
Some are quick, some are slow, it really is "how long is a piece of string".

Understood. But can it be as fast as 2 days or in most cases take weeks?

It’s impossible to answer that question. It takes as long as it takes.

As the others have said, it's the same as asking "how long is a piece of string?" but fingers crossed it'll be quick and painless!

I think mine was fairly quick. I had the phone call that didn't last very long at all. I asked them how long it would take to get the decision too and explained it was causing me a lot of anxiety and they told me it would be Monday (call on Saturday) - I had to send extra information which I did straight away, but they actually posted the decision on my journal the same day as the call.
It certainly wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. It seems they are only looking at larger amounts, didn't ask me anything about smaller items.

My check in September 2023 asked about large & small amounts (such as £12pm for window cleaner).
Seems to vary.

Thank you, thats what i was looking for. While there is no fixed time, unlike PIP reviews, which take many months for everyone, this can take few days vs others that took weeks, in some cases i read over a month.
I wanted to know if anyone got it in few days, and it so happens that we share the same set of conditions. They have similarly promised to me to go through it quickly, for making things easier for me, but didnt give an ETA, hence the post.
Thank you.

I'll give you a timeline for me, if that helps.
03/10/24 - received the notification of the review, given 2 weeks to upload the bank statements.
19/10/24 - (day after the deadline date) - received the date for the telephone interview, which was a week from that date. I also said that I was concerned and got a post back saying it was nothing to worry about.
26/10/24 - Had the interview, uploaded further documents, received the decision.
Hope that helps.

I think it varies according to how complicated your finances are to check, Man from London. Someone I know has just one current and one savings account, and the process from start to finish was over in about a month. I however have a number of defunct accounts I hadn't got around to closing, and it's taken over 6 months and still not finished…
The moral is: keep your finances simple and close any accounts you aren't using

Thank you for that. May I ask, what was the additional documents they asked for? I read that a lot but nobody says what it is?
And, how long after the interview you got the decision?

As additional information, some people are asked for PayPal statements, I was asked for individual bank statement pages showing my Cost of Living Payments (as on paper I was over 6k, but not with CoL disregarded).

6 Months sound quite long, you must be annoyed with the process to say the least.. And may I ask, your other accounts, are they being used? meaning, you transfer money around all accounts? whats making it so complicated for them?

@Autism_at_40
I read on your other post you got the decision on 29/11, thats a month after the interview, thats quite a wait.Let me know what are the additional documents they asked from you, I read another post saying about PayPal statements, which makes sense. Was it something similar?

Thank you, that makes sense about PayPal. Not quite sure I understand what you mean your COL payments took you over £6000. Do you mean you had ie savings of £5900 and the COL took you over it? Sorry, trying to understand better what you wrote here, its me, not you.

My review was last September so I'm not certain of the exact details.
But pretty much yes, I think it was at about £5.8k without the CoL disregard.

How do you generate a Paypal statement? I can't seem to find that option on my account?

Thanks Kimmy. I did download one that way before but nothing was showing on there. Just a couple of lines that said £0.00 with a huge amount of blank space below.
Just checked again and realised that was only the first page of many. 😅

I don't completely agree with this, I had over 16 accounts that I transfer money to and from in order to budget more effectively, I had to ask for additional lines to upload all the statements, but it still didn't take that long. I think it must depend more on the types and/or amounts of transactions being made.

The additional information was indeed Paypal statements. I did question as to why they needed them, but just did them anyway.
As for my other post about the confirmation I got on 29th November was nothing to do with the UC review, it was to do with a tribunal decision I had already had back in September, just a confirmation of the back pay that was owed to me.
The information I provided in the timeline to you is accurate, I received the decision of the UC review on the day.
