Appealing Social Services Decision: Struggling with Care Needs and Parent Carers’ Declining Health
Social services won't get carers in to help me because "my needs are being met by my parents." My parents health is declining they both receive PIP. I am going to appeal the decision. If my parents continue to care for me, it will kill them or break us apart.
Any suggestions would be very welcome, I am so stressed and worried about my parents. For context I have CP and Fibromyalgia. I also have poor mental health.

Have you had a needs assessment yourself, and have your parents had a carers assessment?
Social services may try and get off the hook from paying to meet someones needs, but your parents can't be forced to act as your carer.
They can simply stop and inform social services you are now without care.
Might be a good place to be informed of your rights etc and get support.

@Kimmy87 I haven't had either, they was supposed to be sending someone out to assess me. My mum is waiting for her carers assessment.
She just keeps telling me they are going back to her manager. My mum is going to ring a number for carers in my area tomorrow.
