I have a six year old and she is my world. I have become more frustrated lately that i cannot do everything that an able bodied father can do i.e. teach her to ride her bike. Don't get me wrong I go out in my wheelchair with her on her bike but its not the same. Do any other dads feel this way?

Hi, I have CP and have two kids now and as the years progress and my condition changes there are things that I can no longer do that I might have done previously which I know can be very frustrating, but kids adapt and no doubt she loves you for who you are and appreciates the things that you can do with her. I don't know your level of CP, but is swimming something that would be possible as Ive found this to be brilliant and in water you would never know I had CP. Parks, museums are also good and plenty have disabled access.

Swimming is excellent as you have said. Thanks for your comment. I am probably over thinking things!!!

Swimming is most definitely an activity that would be great and will allow you to enjoy your time with your kids; watching from the sidelines as your children partake in other activities is not quite the same.
