My sea legs usually only come out of their packaging for trips on the Isle of Wight ferry! If you are a bit more adventurous than that, are aged 16 - 21, and fancy a festive jaunt around the Canaries, my friends at the Jubilee Sailing Trust are offering just that! Flights to and from the Gran Canaria are not included in the very low cost of this Fantastic Opportunity, but if you are stuck for ideas on what to ask Santa Claus to put in your stocking, this may be just what you are looking for!!
Details are:
''For the first time ever MSSC (Marine Society & Sea Cadets) and Jubilee Sailing Trust are working in partnership to increase the impact of our work. We are providing a voyage at Christmas for young people from areas of multiple deprivation (Sea Cadets) who will buddy young people with disabilities (Jubilee Sailing Trust).
The Christmas Voyage aims to promote integration and understanding of the lives and needs of others alongside the 'life changing' experience of the challenges faced at sea on a tall ship. We know from experience that a voyage at sea will help to develop skills which can be useful in supporting routes to further education and career pathways.
During this fantastic voyage not only will they be celebrating the festive period but also getting involved in the Christmas Day tall ship festival happening in La Palma.
Voyage is
22nd-29th December
Gran Canaria - Gran Canaria
Tall Ship Lord Nelson
Cost - Normally £1,400 but for young adults = £104*
Flights and travel insurance are not included
*The full cost to the JST is £1,400 pp. Thanks to our donors we are able to subsidise this voyage by 90%. Transport to and from the ship and travel insurance is not included.
If you are interested please get in contact with Maureen on 023 8042 6855 or maureen.dealey@jst.org.uk and please feel free to share this amongst your friends and family. ''
