In October the rules for Access To Work changed meaning you have to earn a certain amount each week for two years before you claim it. Are there any other benefits that people who don't earn this amount can claim in order to get support from a Personal Assistant whilst in self-employment?

    Hello,

I've been looking into this for you but I cannot find anywhere that states you have to earn a certain amount each week for two years before you claim Access to Work. Could I ask where you found this information?
Here is a link to the government website which talks about Access to Work and how you can qualify for help. https://www.gov.uk/access-to-work/overview

We have information on our website about work and you might find some ideas there about funding for a PA. http://www.scope.org.uk/support/disabled-people/work/factors

I hope you find this helpful.

    Best wishes
    Debbie

I tried to renew my Access To Work at the end of last year but the assessor I spoke to on the phone said that the regulations had changed in October. I then did some research and found the same info online so now I'm looking for more support so I can continue as a freelance journalist.

If you have a look at the following link, it will tell you that you have to earn a minimum of £105 per week without any Tax Credits in order to claim ATW. https://www.gov.uk/access-to-work/eligibility

    Hello,

Thank you for posting the link, I couldn't see that part for looking but it's really clear now.

I'm not aware of any other funding but if you would like to contact me at the helpline and give me some more information about your situation, I'll look into it for you.

    Best wishes
    Debbie
