Hi @clair, I've moved your post to our benefits advisors' section as they may be able to assist, but they will need a little more information. Can you provide some background on your claim and your assessment etc?

    Hello Clair

I am sorry to hear that you have been refused PIP. Was this your first claim?

If you want to challenge a refusal decision, you must request a Mandatory Reconsideration within 1 month of the date of the decision letter.  For example, if you received the PIP decision on 26 February 2017 you must make the request by 25 March 2017.

It is best to put the request in writing stating that you want to ‘lodge a mandatory reconsideration against the decision dated ….  that refused PIP.’  Then explain why you believe that you entitled to PIP.

The Scope website has some useful information on PIP, the link is below:

    https://www.scope.org.uk/support/disabled-people/benefits/personal-independence-payment-pip

    Good luck

    Maria
