The usual time for review in SG is 3 years but the DWP can review a claim at any time, can be sooner or some are defered for a time

stevesue,
As CR says there is no particular length of time - the DWP can review you whenever they choose. However, if you have a work capability assessment from this autumn onwards and you are in the support group, you should also be told whether you will be reassessed again in the future. Some people with lifelong or deteriorating conditions who are not expected to work can be told they won't be reassessed.
Either way, if you are in the support group, you should now be given that information after an assessment - that is, you should be told whether you can expect to be assessed again.To avoid a reassessment, guidance says you have to meet the following conditions:
- the level of function will always meet support group criteria;
- the condition will always be present;
- no realistic prospect of recovery of function;
- a recognised medical diagnosis has been made.
