I was on incapacity benefit and was then moved to ESA I know I used to pay national insurance from my benefit but don’t know which one I was on...income related or contributions. I was put into support group and told I wouldn’t have to have anymore medicals.
I am now no longer on ESA as of March this year as I’ve reached pension age and now get my pension. How do I find out if I am owed anything from DWP over this blunder. -
Hi,Some that were moved from IB to ESA were automatically placed onto Contributions based ESA and they weren't assessed for the Income related top ups. Qualifying for the income related top ups totally depend on your circumstances. Did you live with a partner that worked? if so how many hours per week did they work? Do you have savings/capital?As you were in the Support Group the contributions based amount for this in March this year was approx £109 ish per week. Is that the amount you were receiving or was it more than that?
