Hi, im julesmonroe1972! Why has my sons EHCP been taken away?

My son is under 3 hospitals awaiting formal diagnosis and his school have taken his EHCP away he is 9 went to specialist nursery then mainstream with a speech and language unit on site

    HI and welcome.

    Why have the school taken his EHCP away? Have they given a reason for this. It wouldn't have been the school that did this, it would be your local Authority (LA) The 2 reasons that this could happen is that the level of support is no longer needed or your LA is no longer responsible for the child.

    Hi poppy the school have said previously that he is doing really well, he was non verbal till 4.5 years and now he has full speech, but I thought because it’s a Heath and education plan and him still being under 3 hospitals waiting for someone to spend their pot of gold in a formal diagnosis, he was having seizures till he was 6.5years and that’s all the hospital were interested in now I’ve finally managed to get him seen by Cahms and then this!?

    That's a really good thing that he has improved.

    It could be that the level of support indicated in the EHCP is no longer needed. Or that no support is needed at all. They won't just removed the EHCP completely without good reason and they should have contacted you because there's procedure they must follow before stopping the ECHP.  I'd advise you to contact your LA to ask exactly what's happening and hopefully they will be able to tell you.

    I can understand your frustration, having felt like you were getting somewhere for it to be taken away  :(  I'd recommend reading the IPSEA link @poppy123456 left you and I hope you have some joy in talking with the LA.
