    Hi there

Hcp are in majority of cases paramedics,  physio,  ex nurses etc people from medical background

As above there is no requirement for them to be doctors as they are assessing your functionality not your condition

@roots45, The health professionals are people who are qualified and registered to work in their chosen profession. There are a few doctors, paramedics, nurses,  Physiotherapists. All are registered to their professional bodies. They are trained on how to use the computer software for doing the PIP assessments. The HPs don’t have to have in-depth knowledge of our illnesses, disability or diagnosis. As I am sure after a few weeks or months of doing assessments they gain an insight to all the different circumstances that we as applicants submit in our application form that allows them to using the PIP assessment software  to make an award notification notice which is sent to the DWP where a decision maker reads all the evidence snd the HPs report and makes the appropriate award and award time length.
