Random advice

I saw a sort of game on skint dad FB where there was a discussion of random advice. Good advice but not specific to anyone or any situation and thought it could be good here.

Examples
-When you're cooking the recipe is just for reference but if you're baking think of it as law
-If you get a weird email or something unexpected by text, never click the link
What random but good advice would you give someone else?

If something seems too good to be true it probably is
Always choose the second cheapest bottle of wine from the wine list in a restaurant
When driving you should always be able to come to a complete stop in the section of road that you can see in front of you

Don’t believe anything you hear and only half what you see. (Not a great one tbh)
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.
Its the wolf which makes the caribou strong.

Be careful what you wish for
I always wished I could stat home parent so my boy didn't have to go to childminders and school clubs
But I got my wish when I became a single parent and disabled in the same year (it wasn't how I wished it would be )2 -

Ask your parents about their life. It wasn't until my parents were no longer here I realised how little I knew.1
