On an average day

What do you wear on an average day to day basis?

I live in dresses I can just throw on as they're the most comfortable but if I leave the house I always throw on a pair of leggings too even if the dress is really long.
What does everyone else wear most days?

Jeans and a jumper every day regardless of weather

I don’t like wearing any clothes that leave exposed skin like shorts or a short sleeved shirt

I get too hot if I do this but don't like going outside the house with skin exposed which is why I add the leggings.

    Pjyamas

Usually jeans/trousers or trackies and a t-shirt, plus a jumper if it's cold. I'm not a dress or skirt wearer!

I'm really not a stereotypical girly-girl at all and if I think about it I don't prefer the style just the comfort :D I think the only reason I wear a dress all day is because it's so light weight and like wearing nothing :D

I get that @Biblioklept :) I used to wear tighter clothes, but I'm more into baggy clothes at the moment. A baggy t-shirt and baggy trousers has the same effect for me, I think!

I kind of wish I had a need to wear smart clothes but I don’t even own a suit :D

Did anyone else’s parents or grandparents used to dress smart all the time when out, even to go to the supermarket?

Yes!! Always in proper shirts and things. I love the idea of it but just imagine it's so uncomfortable, though they never seemed to be. Maybe they had a higher tolerance for it and our generation is spoilt being able to be comfy :D:D

I still see plenty of people, especially older people, in smart clothes when out and about @66Mustang! I remember finding it hilarious growing up when my mum told me that people would dress up to go to the local John Lewis. It's obviously not a bad thing, but I recall finding it a strange thought. I'm all about comfort, though.

I bought a suit for a friend's wedding a few months ago, and it's going to be my go-to smart outfit now :D

Love that @Tori_Scope a smart  go to out fit.
I saw a guy few weeks ago looking very smart, I presumed he was a solicitor as was heading towards a solicitors office. Not in a suit but smart pointed shoes and nice shirt and trousers and hair styled. Man bag.

I agree @Tori_Scope I go for comfort myself.

I still like to look presentable which leads me to a question if it’s OK to ask, I think it’s keeping with the flow of the thread.

What is everyone’s opinion on people who dress in an unpresentable way, to the point of being offensive?

I saw a man in the supermarket today in shorts and flip flops without a shirt on just walking around doing his shopping like normal. He was also shouting to his partner who was half way across the shop several aisles down so obviously didn’t believe in being respectful to others around him.

Also saw a woman the other day in a different supermarket walking around bare foot.

Opinions? Perfectly OK as long as they’re comfortable? Or offensive?

To think less than 100 years ago we would wear a suit to go to the shops. We have gone from one extreme to the other.

    Bit gross.
Only clothing I don't like is legging with little tops, doesn't matter what size a person is, it looks awful, I appolize if someone here loves that attire.

That's a good question. I mostly think I don't care what others wear and even when I see people wear something I wouldn't wear myself or I don't understand I still think good on them. BUT barefoot in supermarket is just a bit ick I don't get the need, the same as being topless. If people in really hot countries can wear a top, most people manage it in an air conditioned supermarket surely?!

    It's blue corduroy @biblioklept :)

Definitely @Sandy_123! It's good to have a go-to outfit in case you need to dress smartly for some reason.

I don't generally care what other people wear @66Mustang, but I agree with the others that the hygiene side of things would be my main concern. That being said, I don't imagine supermarkets are very hygienic anyway!
