However, I learnt via my partner that in the states it's the opposite way. Your fork goes in your main hand. Little cultural differences.1 -
Forks weren't introduced until fairly recently in evolutionary terms. Before that, you would hold a lump of food in your non-dominant hand and use the knife (which has been around for millennia!) to cut it with the strength and precision of your dominant hand. When forks came along, they were just naturally used in the 'empty' hand. I didn't know it was different in the states.

I'm left handed (or sinister, as we used to be called) I have a left handed mouse for my PC now. But I eat right handed, play guitar and bass right handed, but played drums left handed.
I can write right handed, but my handwriting is shocking with either hand.1 -

@Biblioklept I have the mouse on the left side, but the buttons are still configured for right handers. W A S D can get really annoying for a lefty!0
