I don't know if this will get many replies but do you have a favourite piece of art?? It can be something you've made or something famous or anything.
I've been dreaming lately of going to an art gallery. I don't know why as I've never been bothered or understood art before but I just wondered if anyone had some favourite pieces I could look up or they should share on here?

I have a print by Steven brown of dolphins
I like all his work and also have same print on my mug and placemats
It's the artist that does animals in bright colours just all pencil lines0 -
I've always liked the paintings by Vincent Van Gogh. The starry night is the pic on my account. His back story is quite interesting too. I've always wanted to go to an art gallery aswel but then I overthink it ( what if there's too many people there ). very good idea, would be interesting 👍0

Hi @Biblioklept, I love art in general and admire artists such as Van Gogh, John Waterhouse, Monet, Klimt, Constable, Turner, as well as the very talented foot and mouth artists.
I have to say that I adore my own artwork!
Unfortunately I have not been able to work on my canvasses for a year now, as I can barely move my arms. It really breaks my heart.0 -
I'm also a fan of van Gogh, tho Salvador Dali is definitely my favourite artist. You've just sent me down a wormhole looking at Dali's paintings @Biblioklept trying to pick a favourite, but it's too hard (Burning Giraffe is my son's favourite).I also like the works of M.C. Escher & Mervyn Peake (usually noted for his literary works, especially the Gormenghast trilogy), & Toulouse-Lautrec.The most impressive painting I've actually seen was an enormous one of Canaletto's at the Bowes Museum. Sadly I've only seen a small pencil sketch of Dali's at an auction house, so visiting Figueres is on my bucket list (I wish).Dali did an amazing painting of Jesus called 'Christ of Saint John of the Cross' which I hope you also like too @Ada https://www.dalipaintings.com/christ-of-saint-john-of-the-cross.jsp

I don't really have a favourite artist, but I love going to proper old galleries, looking at the paintings. I love that TV show, where they try to see if people's paintings are genuine ones, forget what it's called.0

It was 'Fake or Fortune' with Fiona Bruce & Philip Mould (a great team) @Sandy_123 - I really enjoyed it too, & the results were often surprising!

Oh yes that's what it is called, I absolutely love that programme. So interesting, how they annalise the paintings and clean them up. I love when they go to the same spot too where it was painted. Some I've thought have to be genuine and later found not to be.1

I of course like many of those mentioned so but want to mention a perhaps controversial one.
I quite like some of the artwork produced by "Banksy".
I think they are actually quite talented!0 -
Do you have any particular favourite Banksy artwork @66Mustang? I am intrigued0
