What was your favourite children's show?

I admit it, I still watch children's programmes. I can kind of get away with it as I have a toddler, but even before she was born I was partial to a cartoon or two. One of my favourite modern cartoons is Kiff. It's on Disney and has amazing song parodies in each episode.

I was thinking about how different children's shows are now to what they were when I was young and thought we could share our childhood favourites ๐Ÿ˜Š Non-cartoons are allowed!

I remember Finders Keepers with Neil Buchanan, Rugrats, Fireman Sam, and one of my absolute favourites, the Shoe People!

Here's the theme song for you to enjoy

I watch episodes of Bluey now and then, it's just so lovely.

From my childhood I'd say: Duck Tales, Rugrats, My Little Pony and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air,

I was completely obsessed with care bears, Pokemon (obviously) and Dexterโ€™s lab

    I still watch Pokemon now

Ah yes I like Trumpton too @SheffieldMan1976! I pretty much like anything that's stop motion.

Bluey is absolutely wonderful isn't it @Anhedonia2? I heard so much about it and thought surely it can't be that good. I was so wrong. It deals with such complex things, even infertility! I have cried at a few episodes, have you?

I love Care Bears too @SlowMode. Have you seen there's a modern version? It doesn't have the same cosy feel to it.

Mr Benn where he tries on different costumes to enter magical worlds.

I sometimes rewatch Mr Benn on youtube @Bluebell21! I find the narrators voice really soothing.

Ray Brooks had a lovely warm gentle voice. He was just right to narrate Mr Benn. @Rachel_Scope

I love Bluey. I complain about it, but I'm always secretly happy when it somehow ends up on the telly.

I was also a massive fan of DuckTales (Woo-hoo!) and Rugrats. The Fresh Prince of Bel Air as well.

Before that I was really into Captain Planet, ThunderCats, He-Man. And there was a period where I was probably a little too into Captain Scarlet and Thunderbirds, but we don't talk about that ๐Ÿ˜

Nice to see a few Rugrats fans!

I've just asked my friend and her answers were very different! She loved Power Rangers, X-Men, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Any fans of these?

Can't beat a bit of rugrats.

Also liked Ed, Edd, and Eddy, Cow and Chicken and I am Weasel which were both very silly and immature. Can't beat a bit of Spongebob Squarepants either ๐Ÿ˜…

I'm another Rugrats fan! And I also loved Postman Pat, Fireman Sam, and the Poddington Peas. Still get the theme tune in my head every now and then ๐Ÿ˜

Thanks so much everyone for sharing your favourite children's shows so far! I'm compiling a list of the ones I used to watch and had forgotten about and making a YouTube playlist. A couple of standout ones that I can't believe I forgot was

Poddington Peas. A cracking theme song and yes it's stuck in my head now! @Rosie_Scope

Fun House. I also wanted to have a go on the Go Karts. I dont' feel like we have shows like that anymore. @kreacher

Are there any modern children's shows that you like? Bluey has been mentioned which is absolutely brilliant and I'm not sure if there are any that will come close to that. I appreciate that we all probably don't get the chance to watch cartoons nowadays but maybe you could for 'research'? ๐Ÿ˜‚

I have the Blu Ray box set. Back in the day when it was on TV I remember buying some Terrahawks bubble gum with stickers.
