Have you had your assessment? Or are you waiting for your forms to start a claim?
the actual claims forms arrive rather quickly.
ive been told ( Staffordshire area)
that I will have an 8 week wait before a decision

@ Anniepoole, welcome and hello, reading your quarry it implies that you have had your acessment and now waiting for the results. If that is the case then telephone DWP and request a copy of your acessment report, when you receive it about 14 days after requesting it you will and should be able to work out what your award may or should be. The latter part of the report lists the point awarded by the acessor which is then sent to,the decision maker who sets your award. The points are awarded for each descriptor by the acessor putting a black dot against the descriptor that matches your condition at the acessment in their opinion. The first box is no points the second is two points. You have to get 8 points to get basic award in daily livening and mobility and 12 points for higher rate. For full mobility rate the last two descriptor boxes either one must be marked with a black dot to get full mobility. When you have worked the scores out either rejoice and wait for comfirmation with the arrival of award letter or start preparing for a MR or appeal. Good luck.
