Would working 15 hours a week affect my benefits?  I have a job interview on 1st October.

    Hi@Sarah1984

    Thanks for your query.

Working 15 hours per week is within the "permitted work" rule.

If you do ‘permitted work’ it will not usually affect your ESA. It’s permitted work if both the following apply:

    • you earn up to £125.50 a week
    • you work less than 16 hours a week

There’s no limit on how many weeks your permitted work can last for.

Your DLA is not means tested so will not be affected by employment and earnings.

I wish you all the best with your interview!

Please let us know how it went.

    Kind Regards
    Pia
