Giving up work due to disability

I am seriously considering giving up my part time job as I am struggling with pain. Don't know what benefits I would be entitled to and would I be penalised for giving up work.i am single and a council tenant. Can anyone help?

Hi,Depending on the hours you work, SSP could be possible for 28 weeks and for this you'll need a sick/fit note from your GP.For anything else then i'd advise you to speak to an advice centre near you for a full benefits check. This way, you'll be able to tell them all your circumstances and they'll be able to advise you on your best options.

It might also be worth considering whether there are any reasonable adjustments that could be made at work to help you manage your pain, before you decide to leave? However, your health should always be the priority, so please do seek guidance near you if you do decide to leave.
