Whats happened today for my pip assessments is BIZARRE! My PIP assessors a total idiot! Was supposed to have a home assement today. When assessor didnt turn up i phoned the main centre and was told that she HAD visited and HAD done a full assessment today!?when i informed them that she hadnt they didnt seem to believe me and said they would phone me back. Later they phoned back and said the assessor had gone to a house and done FULL assessment because that person had said they were me?. Some data protection NOT! Why didnt they ask for i.d? And discussing all my private medical history with a stranger who's pretending to be me is not right!?the assessor didnt even realise and SUBMITTED the report! If it wasnt for me phoning up they wouldnt have known about this HUGE mistake!im very ill and dont need this stress ive already had assessment for esa so why do i need another! Just shows what incompetant people they have as assessors. All assessors care about is being PAID! Im now having to wait for another appointment hopefully with someone else  as she should be sacked for total incompetance!

Hi @helen2019 I am so sorry to hear what has happened! Unfortunately, as ESA and PIP are two completely different benefits then they need separate assessments. Keep us updated and let us know if you have any further questions :)

You couldn’t make this up really, they have a name and address to go to, a procedure for checking a claimants identity, so where did the acessor go wrong a full investigation needs to be done by the company to bring about reassurance to all those requesting home acessments.

This is another outrage. The assessor, has to see two forms of ID from you. Something very wrong with this.

It's more than likely that the assessor never saw anybody and decided beforehand to make up the assessment from the claim form. Over and done with within 10 mins and gets paid for it!

This has happened in the past whilst being secretly recorded in filling out the computer system BEFORE the claimant set one foot inside the building.

But somethings def wrong because she definately didnt come to my house. When i phoned the assessment centre they said she went to a bungalow and fully assessed me?.So twonker maybe right and she has just made my assessment up from the paper report i filled in months ago.
i live in a house. On streetview if you type in my address it shows my HOUSE. Plus she had my phone number and phoned night before asking "is there parking at your HOUSE?"  she must be really stupid to get wrong address and wrong person and do full assessment!! And what about the stupid person allowing the assessor in and pretending to be me ?strange!
Why cant a report from the hospital where a persons treated for their disability be enough proof instead all we get is more uneeded stress and incompetant unqualified people who cba finding your house to assess us! Money and completing their daily targets to get bonus is all they want and just dont care at all about us.

Nowadays, the assessors are not allowed to create a new report unless the claimaint has arrived and checked in.
That wouldn't apply as it was a home visit.

What the diagnosis is or how it is being treated is of no concern to the DWP. The purpose of PIP is purely to assess the impact on your life and matching that impact to the descriptors. Get enough descriptors matched and gain enough points then you get an award. As Brucie used to say, points make prizes.

It's an outrage, we have to jump through their hoops though, in my case forty five years of medical evidence and I have to go, with cap in hand, and beg too my peers to receive their hand outs, WE ALL pay for in our Taxes anyway. Sixth richest Country in the World, to be treated worse than pet dogs.

I'd phone the Police on this and tell them someone's stolen you ID and you have proof. Grrr it makes my blood boil.

Well let's be honest, surely you don't expect the government to be handing over cash that I have paid in to anybody without first being absolutely sure that they are entitled to it? I would expect a thorough check and assessment first as would most if not all taxpayers.

So your saying  the professional, specialist and highly trained Drs on the nhs are liars. Obv pip and esa assessors in your opinion are more qualified to overturn the specialists diagnosis of their patients?...

The assessors do not get bonuses.

Funny that @ilovecats about bonuses, Ive posted a document that assessors can do more than a daily amount they should do. Go over and above, so in affect if a rouge assessor had said they've done an assessment they still get paid. This document shown below is an older one, but I'm pretty sure these offers are still on the table,

I created one of the campaign election videos for Labour, and Jeremy Corbyn,
This is a new version of Emeli Sande, Hope "You Are Not Alone
I highlighted everything that's wrong with this country from benefits, NHS, UC etc, but now we have to put up with the hate now that is the Tories.

Can I have one of these doctors, please? Rarely do I see the same GP at my practice. They are so overworked and the appointments so peremptory I have no confidence that they have an overview of my condition.

In the hospital the doctors might be exemplary at treating the primary problem but at follow up clinics the chances are high you’ll just see some locum and never get the same person next time round.

PIP does not concern itself with diagnoses. It is an assessment of how your medical condition constrains you from doing daily tasks. These highly trained doctors might do well inside their hospitals and surgeries but have very little idea of how the condition restricts me from cooking, walking to the shops, getting dressed etc.

Having said that, I have to say that what you (didn’t) experience Helen displays staggering ineptitude. It is an error of such magnitude as to be, possibly, a sackable offence. It in no way excuses it, but do you have a fairly common surname that, by astonishing coincidence, is shared by the occupant of the house the assessor visited. I am envisaging a scenario where a befuddled elderly resident opens the door to a smartly dressed person saying “Good morning, Mrs XYZ, I’m here to do your assessment. May I come in?” and then the ghastly mess plays out.

Obviously if someone has 'made up' an assessment that is clearly wrong.

However the letter refers to 'seeing more claimants during the day and at weekends' mean that it's really referring to a payment for extra work i.e. overtime. I don't know anyone who would volunteer to carry out more assessments without being paid more. The person who seems to get something that might be called a bonus is the site coordinator who I assume doesn't see claimants..

No I am not. It's all a question of qualification. The likes of the NHS staff are trained to diagnose and treat whilst the assessors are trained to assess impact on your life. It's horses for courses.

As anyone would, work harder to get more work done then you would expect more money for the extra effort put in.
