Hi Guys

I still haven't heard anything back yet about my sons assessment appointment and whilst trying to read to see how long these typically take to come back I was thinking .. my son is terrible for washing and not only do I have to tell him to shower I normally make him redo as he never does it properly ( most times I even still have to re wash his hair myself) If he is going to school (only time he leaves the house) I do re wash his hair .. should I do this for his assessment .. this probably sounds stupid but im just not sure .. I don't want him looking a mess but It is something that I have to do and im not sure if I am supposed to ?

    HI,

    When attending a face to face assessment you shouldn't do anything different to what you usually do. If he needs prompting to get dressed or washed, or prompting to know what clothing to wear each day then you should do what you always do. Don't "dress down" for the assessment.... be yourself. Good luck.

    Are asking whether you should help your son get ready for the assessment by washing his hair? If you are, my response would be to do what makes you both feel comfortable. If you normally help him in this way then do so but make sure you explain the difficulties you son has and the support and care you give in order for him to maintain his personal hygiene. 

    I'm sure others will be along shortly to give their opinions.

    Thanks guys normally I would do these things and I think its more for me as he really doesn't care about his apperance or hygine .. the other twin showers three times a day so makes up for it lol.

    ill just do everything as normal then .. just waiting for the appointment to come through .. mind I haven't had anything to say forms received yet either
