Do you enjoy the heat?

The temperature crept up to 32 °C here today (and it's set to be hotter later in the week!) and I'm miserable. However, everybody on TV and in the street appear to be relishing the horrible, oppressive heat.

So, what do you think of the warmer weather? Do you love it or hate it?

@Adrian_Scope buddy you had to say that didn't you I can't cope in this heat,?
I would be happy if it was about 18C through the day, and 5C through the night.

It plays havoc with my breathing amongst other things. No sleeping for me now, not that I slept muck anyway.?

100% hate it, as I'm gonna have to take more  p?i?l?l?s to knock me out.

Hi there,      25 degrees and a gentle breeze is about my limit....any more than that I need to hide or look for someplace with air-conditioning.  Dreading the next 6 or 8 weeks..

    Best wishes.

18/19°C is definitely my limit. Roll on the next ice age.

You've got it Adrian.... ? at least my PIP has given me the opportunity to purchase air-conditioning unit, darn things cost a fortune to run. Can't win either way @Adrian_Scope

I love the hot weather, just not in this country lol. 25 degrees is my limit in this country but i won't complain because the heat for me means so much less pain.

Night time isn't so good though because it's too hot to sleep, which means even more less sleep than usual.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

@Adrian_Scope I'd prefer it if it had more of a breeze, but it's lovely. How about you?

We are making the most of it. We picnicked by a lake today and played a game of Frisbee too. At night we venture out to the balcony.
Tomorrow we will go for a swim and possibly buy ice cream. On Thursday we are driving down to Farnham to the beach. We will stroll around and eat out as well.
Friday we plan to do a walk in a local park. Or see a movie.

I hate the heat myself, don't mind so much when it's cooler indoors, overnight or in the shade but this current heat is completely inescapable!  :(   I don't remember there being a comfortable temperature so far this year either, we seemed to go straight from freezing cold to a heatwave...I'm just hoping it doesn't last too long...

Absolutely love it. As long as I'm not travelling on the trains.

Hello @Adrian_Scope I think what is important is to be sensible and practical when we have weather like this.

    Learn and be educated.

Look at countries from the Med and beyond.

    Think how they all cope.

Look at ways to be cool and ways to stay safe in the sun.

Do not go out from 11am to 2pm the sun is at the hottest.

Drink plenty of water rehydrate yourself with fruit .  Wear a hat and sun block carry around.  Bag of snacks like Nuts or Apples or Pears.  Plus bottled water.

Dress for the weather cool clothing loose fitting.

Chillies , Beans and Pulses lower blood pressure. Chillies may make you sweat but cool the body.

Tryptophan an enzyme found in Whole grains bread, Pasta and Beans , Pulses. Lean meat help your sleep aids restful sleep.

Have organised and plan fridge freezer simple meals not long to do. Use time when cool to make meal kits like myself. Who wants to cook in a hot kitchen make a meal kits. Veggies and anything like sauces do and prepare before hand.

Use a slow cooker.  If you have one.

Make sure all rooms ventilated crack open windows and blinds. Not wide open hot air rises.

Be aware of your own sense of wellbeing. No point rushing around doing extreme forms of exertion.  Be aware of doing fitness, walking or any exercise unless you are prepared for it.

Have plenty of water, plenty of time to rest.  Body needs to recover.

Any activities do before allocated times before sun gets really hot.

Then after wards around 3pm or longer.

We should embrace the sun needs Vitamin D from the sun. Helps with mental health and wellbeing.  Need to be careful that is all.

    Hope that helps any body.

    Take care.

I love going to the park when it is hot, but when I play Five-a-side with friends, we start the games in the evening during the heatwaves we have been having.

Thank you for all the advice @thespiceman. I've definitely realised this evening that I need to be better prepared and have some meal kits made up. Cooking in this weather is not fun!
