Am I entitled to any benefits

Hi
I am due to have an operation on my foot in October and will be off of work for 4-6 weeks, I am self-employed and my husband gets Carers allowance. Would I be entitled to any benefits?

HI,

If you've paid enough NI Contributions between April 2016 and March 2018 then you'll be able to claim New style ESA with a fit note from your GP. It's £73.10 per week and is paid for 365 days unless placed into the Support Group and then it's paid for as long as you remain in that group.

If you haven't paid enough during that time then it will be Universal Credit and claiming this will depend on your circumstances such as household income, savings and capital.
