Pip tribunal now confirmed

hi- I have been waiting since Feb for a tribunal date for my PIP ( first claim for PIP ) has a letter confirming a telephone tribunal BUT it’s a date when my partner can’t make it and she normally supports me. I’m struggling to ring and ask for a date change as might this delay it even further ? Should I just do the call alone ?

HI,They may not agree to delay the hearing but if you do decide to ask the sooner you contact HMCTS the better. Is there anyone else that can be with you on the day of the hearing?I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

I have moved your discussion to our PIP, DLA and AA category so that it will hopefully get more responses.
It's hard to say how long asking for a new date would delay it by, but if you feel as though you need the support of your partner it might be a good thing to try to re-arrange it.

Welcome to the community @Martin2019 As the others have said, there are options, but how would you feel about doing the call alone if it came to that?

I guess I could do the call alone- she has helped me send in all the evidence and has sent evidence from doctors etc for me. I will probably do it alone as the stress of waiting out weighs the award possibility.

hello - Martin had his tribunal last week - ( I’m typing on behalf as he has got really down about it all taking so long ) they asked him very unique questions to his case ( telephone appeal ) and I was very impressed by the questions asked and the time allowed for him to answer / he has had an email to say a decision has been made and letter is in the way. Our post is shocking so might be a few weeks for the decision letter - but seems a short time compared to the 18month plus when he originally applied for PIP!

OMG you have been waiting 18 months ? It’s taken 18 months in total ? That’s a Long wait I’m sorry it’s taken so long but wishing you all the best luck keep us updated
