Good afternoon all, have you or anyone you know had the covid vaccine yet? Our 84 year old neighbour had his on Sunday and good for him, other than he never goes out of his front door ! And yet another neighbour who is 78 and has cancer might have to wait a while longer.
I suspect I might have to wait until March and senior management a while longer.
If i'm honest and they gave me a choice our daughter could have mine as she's a single mum.

An eighty year old friend of mine has been invited later this week but I too expect to have it later in the spring.

My Uncle and his Partner had theirs last week, but they're both in their 80s. Hopefully they'll send for me some time in February or March, preferably February, I have 2 Comic Cons to hopefully attend in March.

My mum had hers over a week ago but she is 83
I think I will be waiting a while
I am concerned tho about where the centre will be I get asked to go to as I have heard of some even elderly been asked to go miles away
As I cant go out alone and only have my son to escort me and I would have to go by taxi
Have any allowances been made for disabled as the venue would also need to be accessible -
@janer1967 you would hope so would you not?2024 The year of the general election...the time for change is coming 💡

Good thread! Thankfully, my lovely mum had her first vaccine dose last week - she's a frontline nurse who has worked throughout the pandemic so this was a huge relief
@janer1967 You definitely would hope the venue was accessible. Let us know if you come up against any barriers.

Eh? They both more or less live together! She's 85 though, and he was 80 last October, is it because of their age difference?

Looking forward to getting mine but I understand I’m probably bottom of the list being in my 20s with no physical health conditions and not being a key worker.
Some neighbours in their 80s have had theirs, one of my family members took them, they were expected to drive 15 miles away which is quite far if they had no one to take them. I guess we are still at the early stages though. I’m glad they managed to get it done. -
Hi to all
Could I ask a question do I need to find out if I can have the vaccine as I have sleep apnea and breathing problems?
And also why is the vaccine not been done where you live and why not a relative has had theirs this week he's 80 and had to stay 15 mins extra to make sure he didn't get anaphylaxis afterwards.
I looked on net yesterday they said cancelled injections for our area as have to wait 15 mins and carnt do that anymore its essential waiting time.
Dose anyone have any info about this.

@66Mustang oh wow you have extensive knowledge of cars for your age my youngest son is two years older than you and says a car is a car as long as it gets him where he wants to go lol I am impressed

I have two elderly Aunties living in a high risk area and both have had the vaccine now. One is mid 80s (actually don't know her exact age!) but not extremely vulnerable and had hers back in mid December. The other is 88 and is extremely clinically vulnerable and had hers this week. No ill effects for either of them as far as I know.

@Sparklebright63
My mum had to wait for 10 min after the injection think this is normal procedure
Your gp should be able to advise if you are suitable to have it -
