A cold start to the day brr, how's your day going? Mine so far, I've received a Morrison's food delivery, which was half hour early, so had bed head to open door. I'm longing for a coffee but got a sleeping cat draped over me, pinching my body heat.

Morning @Sandy_123.
I reckon lots of us can relate to being surprised by a delivery and having to answer the door not looking our best. I had one at 7am on the dot a few days ago and had to scramble to the door wearing some very fashionable Daddy Pig themed pyjama trousers. I'm sure they've seen far worse than bed head and dodgy clothes on their rounds, though. (I hope.)
My daughter didn't settle for the night until gone 1 and my son decided that he wanted to go go out in the snow at 5am, so I'm running on empty today and presently downing my second cup of coffee. I hope you get yours soon!Community Manager

@Adrian_Scope I'm glad it's not just me then, I must say made me laugh at pig pjs. Your going to need some strong coffee today if not a nap. I managed to just get a coffee, the cat decided he wanted to munch out of his bowl, so that was my exit to the kettle.

I’m having an OK day but just had some bad news (no one’s died or anything just something not good) so I am a bit upset.
We have just walked the dog and are going to drive to the shops later to get some supplies
Yes definitely a cold day - I’m pleased to find out I am getting the £25 cold weather payment. That will really help.
-
@66Mustang morning, sorry to hear you have bad news. Good news on the cold weather payment, it's freezing today, I'm sat with blanket over me with heating on. Enjoy your shopping trip later.

Cold here too, in fact it’s supposed to reach as low as minus 10c here tonight. Now that’s nippy. Funnily enough we had a delivery at eight pm last evening from amazon, they do try don’t they.
I was thinking about making a snowman but I do not want to get my hands frozen, I get a little arthritis in my hands so better not. Sadly I have no grandchildren so can’t help them make one either.
Apart from that im fine today and after a snowy start the sun has actually just come out! First time in three days or so. ?“This is my simple religion. No need for temples. No need for complicated philosophy. Your own mind, your own heart is the temple. Your philosophy is simple kindness.”

@leeCal glad your day is going ok, -3 tonight where I am. And it's 1 at the moment, can't keep my feet warm. Who says you need kids to build a snow man lol. I'd love to build an igloo, we don't have that much snow and it would probably collapse.
-
Building an igloo, hmm. I have earned a living as a carpenter but I’d draw the line at building an igloo mainly because I’m not sure what type of snow is needed. The Inuit have twenty six different names for different types of snow I learned thirty years ago but it never said which one was used to build igloos with, ha ha. Compacted I’d guess.
Not to mention that ice hotel they build every year somewhere. My sister has been in it but I don’t remember where she said it was. North of us I’d guess ?“This is my simple religion. @leeCal I'm thinking you might need hard proper snow for an igloo and very low temperatures. I've watched a documentary on that ice hotel Joanna Lumley. I really couldn't stay there the cold don't like me. It looks good tho how they've done it.

Not a good start to my day my sofa has broken totally wasted and it's only 18 months old not having much luck contacting supplier
On good note booked in my covid vaccine for fri
School also rang to say my son not submitting his IT work great something else to sort out
Hoping the afternoon a bit better -
@janer1967 hopefully the sofa gets sorted out, 18 months not long enough for a new sofa.
Vaccine good luck with that, I was ok with mine.
Get your son to get his school work sent. Then put kettle on. -

@Cressida gosh you've been busy. Hopefully you can relax by the fire soon. Sounds fab a real fire. I would have to get some bread on that for hot buttered toast, like we used to back in the day. What book you reading?

Had a great day, helped someone, had my boiler fixed, my handyman came round to beef up my home security and I had a video chat with my first husband who is now my BFF. Feeling blessed
