Hi everyone. I’ve applied for pip today. Well I filled out the form. I’m currently off work (slt in primary school) I just can’t see me going back anytime soon. So my doctors said apply for pip as I have nothing to loose. I actually fit into a lot of the descriptors so will see what happens. Hope everyone’s ok

@mammy1981 hi there, get the form posted, it does take awhile to get processed.good luck.
-
Yeah I’ve heard that. Waiting for medical records from gp then will send it off. Not sure I’ll get it but we will see x
-
Can only try, hopefully you are successful,
-
Hi and welcome
If there I'd any delay in getting it sent off make sure you ring and ask for an extension you need to send it off at least 10 days before deadline as it needs to be processed and scanned onto the system b4 it shows as being recieved
Good luck for the claim -
Yeah thanks. I only received the document yesterday so given doc a week to give me records then it’s going off. I hope o get it don’t want to fight for it
-
Welcome to the community @mammy1981 Very best of luck with your PIP application.
Just to let you know, I changed the title of your post slightly, and moved it into our PIP category, so that other members can find it more easily. -
That’s great thank you. I’ve got my medical records which states my anxiety and depression and other things. I don’t want to send too much but I literally have about 30 pages of evidence. Is that too much?
-
Took mine for about a month to get an text saying they wanted to do a phone assessment, been claiming since about 2014/15 I cant remember the exact year since rather is a bit of a blur due to mental health problems I have, really hope you get it, got my assessment over the phone tomorrow really nervous about it
-
Hi @mammy1981 evidence should be relevant and where possible recent, it's unlikely that anyone is going to sit down and read through 30 pages tbh.
Remember that PIP isn't awarded because of any illnesses or conditions you have but because of the care and/or mobility issues you have.
I would definitely apply for the extra 2 weeks and have you had a look at what I have linked below?

Yeah I sent rather (or my father did as he deals with all my things like this due to various reasons, largely mental health) sent the appropriate things asked two specialists and my GP to write something about my health problems, can always I think send in further evidence when needed. Not the best person to ask about how much information they need as I really do not know but I dont think 30 pages is too much, certainly comparing to when submitting a whole medical history from my GP's in previous times
-
I'm afraid I have to say that in most cases evidence from a GP is a waste of time, they will k now what's wrong with you but won't know how that affects your daily living.2024 The year of the general election...the time for change is coming 💡

Thanks everyone. It’s details about my health and triggers etc. I’ve found my care plan as well. I’ll send it. Getting it photocopied now by a friend abd I’ll check everything tomorrow and send it. I’ve only had form since yesterday. Good luck tomorrow @jsmith8899 for tomorrow. Let us know how it goes. I’m new to this. I’m hoping we have a smooth process.

It’s posted so what will be will be
-
Good luck with your claim! Sent my form back and have had a telephone assessment. Awaiting results now and been informed this could take 8 weeks. Try not to worry, as you say what will be will be!
-
Thanks for that. I’m a single mam and am not seeing anyone apart from my kids and occasionally a friend. I’m isolated and before this I was a social butterfly. Being off work is awful but there’s no way I can face it and I’m new to this. Glad to have support on here
-
@jacksapps how long after you posted you form did you have the telephone assessment. I hate waiting I’m so impatient but know I have to just get on with it.
-
I sent around 30 which described how my anxiety can cause me problems and letters from me that health team etc. It’s done now but will know for next time. Thanks
-
I’ve just received my text saying they have the form. That’s quick although I did pay over £7 for tracked and signed for delivery.
-
Mammy1981i returned my form in October last year and had to wait until 3rd Feb for the telephone assessment! The wheels of beaurocracy grind extremely slowly although to be fair I don't think Covid helps the process. Try to keep occupied and positive you will get there eventually.

I’m thinking about work constantly. I want to go back deep down
