My sore throat

Some of you will know that I have had what I thought was a "sore throat" for a few days, managed to see my GP this afternoon and the one thing it isn't is a sore throat, I was given a through exam lasting 40 minutes the end result being an urgent referral to see a consultant within 14 days, a number of possibilities were mentioned sadly cancer was one of them, I have to return for blood test on Wednesday.
I'm trying my level best to be positive so as not to upset senior management too much.
This is my second urgent referral in the last six months, the first one turned out to be fine, hope my luck holds this time.

Sorry to hear that. The NHS have been amazing throughout the pandemic.I had an urgent referral made during the first lock down, I had my bloods taken, a CT scan and a face to face appointment with the specialist all within 8 days of the referral. It was suspected cancer but luckily turned out to be something else.I hope you have the same swift experience with your referral.Try not to worry too much.
