So how do you like your fish n chips?  personally i'd go for mushy peas or (but not as well as) curry sauce (but only on the chips)

Plus loads of salt n vinegar.

Many years ago we moved to live near Wigan for a few years, the day we moved in decided to get chippy for tea, stood in queue and the girl in front of me asked for chips and "pea wet", they flicked the juice from the pan of peas over her chips, I had never heard of this, and never since we moved out of the area.

I miss ‘Blackpool’ fish chips n gravy on the prom.

Rare to get gravy in an outlet. (Non seaside)

Plenty of onion vinegar and salt (when push boat out a gherkin and zero cola)

If the fish is poor quality, then it ruins the point of buying the meal. I can cope with low quality chips, but not fish.
I have chilli and mayonaise, and mushy peas.

I haven't had fish and chips for ages and reading all this is making me want some.
Traditional fish, and chips preferably cod, a pinch of salt and lots of vinegar for me. Straight out of the paper on the seafront
