Information on Get help with benefits and pensions if you have accessibility needs was added to the gov.uk website in June 2020.

This webpage was created to ensure that customers and advisers can easily locate information on DWP accessible communications, including information about alternative formats and how to request them. This webpage was created using feedback from Operational Stakeholder Engagement Forum (OSEF) members, as well as other stakeholders and customers.

The DWP want your help to understand if they can improve the information on this page, so are asking you to complete a short survey

The survey will be open until 25 Jun 2021.

Complete the survey now to have your say.

This is interesting.  I am a trustee of a small communication charity (and parent of a young adult with CP) and we (charity) have recently been contacted by someone who uses AAC (communication aid) who has allegedly been told by DWP that as he is not speaking with his own voice they cannot deal with him.  Allegedly a major bank have told him this too, and some sort of 1975 Act relating to personal information has been cited.
We are still trying to get to the bottom of what has actually happened but i wondered if anyone knew what 1975 Act might be being referred to?  Thanks

Sorry, I thought it was related and relevant but I realise that it does actually divert it somewhat.  Apologies; I'll post elsewhere.

@forgoodnesssake, I have forwarded your query to our contact at Irwin Mitchell solicitors. I have had several similar issues with AAC users.
