Hi
I was just wandering if anyone knew anything about private rest bite care I have a 7 yr old with severe developmental delay and other health issues I’m there sole carer but my husband and I don’t have a support network which gives us any childcare so we don’t get any time together and didn’t know if there was private care we could pay for on the odd occasion so we can just go out for dinner maybe I feel guilty just asking thank you for any help. Sorry I’m new on here.

hi @ema84 and a very warm welcome to scope, have you considered discussing needing respite care with social services, another avenue might be your local carers association.
And you shouldn't feel guilty about asking for help.2024 The year of the general election...the time for change is coming 💡 -
If you have a child with special needs you can get a carer's assessment.
You have a right to respite care for your child.
Do contact your local social services. They will arrange this.

Welcome to the community from me too @ema84 Along with the above advice, I just wanted to point you towards Scope's page on finding respite care.
As the others have said, there's absolutely no need to feel guilty.
