Hello good people, My contract was terminated today because of incapacity, long term sickness. they have told me I may well get some owed sick pay and holiday pay at the end of this or next month. I know I will have to declare it to universal credit, do I have to do the same for ESA? I understand there are two types of ESA earnings related and the other???? Sorry for being so vague. I do not know the difference between the two.

You should however report the change of circumstances in your employment through your UC journal.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK. -
Hello Calcotti. Thank you for that. I have sent universal my updated circumstances. I have not received a penny from UC since I applied because I have a bit of a pension coming in. Still what you have told me makes absolute sense. Thank you again.

ESA and pension income are deducted in full from the UC payable.
Have you had a Work Capability Assessment for UC?Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK. -
Yes last week...

Hi @Les525 I'm sorry to hear about your contract being terminated, that must be difficult.
To help everyone in answering your questions I've moved this part of the discussion to our ESA category, and I hope you've found their replies so far useful.
Do let us know if we can do anything else to help.
