I am receiving IIDB for asbestosis. I was assessed at 10% disabled, no idea why only 10% but went along with it. I was also sent a lump sum of £10k, I have no idea what that was for. Now two years later I have been Re-Assessed and am classed as 60% disabled. Will I be receiving another £50k and have you any idea what the lump sums are for.
Cheers Stu.

Hi,Usually you don't receive anything if you're assessed as being 10%. Can't answer the question about the lump sum of £10,000, if it was me then i would have asked what that money was for. See link. For the 60% you will receive a weekly amount which will be about £109 per week. There's a table here with the percentages. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/industrial-injuries-disablement-benefits-technical-guidance/industrial-injuries-disablement-benefits-technical-guidanceIf you are receiving means tested benefits they will be affected by the IIDB payments.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
Welcome to the community @Sbusby
How are you today?
As @poppy123456 has shared, the above links should help you in finding more information about your industrial injuries disabled benefits. It might also be worthwhile contacting someone from the industrial injuries disabled benefits team about your concerns as they will be able to advise further. There should be contact details/a phone number on your received benefit paperwork.
I will also move your comment into our benefits and financial support section. This will hopefully encourage more of our members to share their experiences on your post too. Please see the benefits and financial support section here.
