Hi all feeling fed up hence the name started  with lower back pain feb 2020  just before the first lockdown and 2 years later still in pain and last 10 days pain in the bum literally and very top of left thigh , can hardly walk now well not far anyway , been in touch with gp over the past 2 yrs to no avail certainly haven't seen her face to face , all I’ve had is links to various exercises which I have done religiously but still In pain, paid private for a chiropractor no help there, heat pads cold pads various creams and pills bought a massage gun a cushion to put between the legs in bed the list  goes on. My gp put me on co-codamol strong ones you can’t buy over the counter but they make me zombified and I can’t stay awake pain is still there, feel my quality of life is Zilch and can’t find out what the pain is , anyone had similar experience.
Im 73 by the way but was very active before Covid picked the grandchildren up from school did my supermarket shop etc cooked for the family now I barely go outside

    Hi @Outofsorts

Welcome to the community and thank you for sharing a little bit about yourself and your current experiences. I'm sorry to hear that you've been in a lot of pain recently, I experience chronic pain too and I know how difficult it can be to live with.

Have the specialists/GP/chiropractor told you what is causing the pain? This information might help with exploring strategies to try and manage the pain. I know we have a lot of members on the community who experience chronic pain, so hopefully they'll share their experiences with you. I will move your post to our chronic pain and pain management category, in the hope that it will receive more attention.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please just let us know :)

    Hi @Outofsorts

Welcome to Scope's forum. It is great to see you have joined us.

I really appreciate that you have already managed to find the courage to reach out to us. I am sorry to hear you have been experiencing such a tough time. Given how tough this sounds for you, I am just wondering how your mental health and well-being have been?

Though, I can hear you are just hoping for someone to share their lived experience with you. Unfortunately, I don't have any lived experience with this to share with you. Hopefully, someone with a similar experience will be able to talk to you though  :)

hi @Outofsorts and welcome to scope this evening, the only suggestion I have would be to ask your GP to refer you to the local pain clinic (most hospitals have one now), they may have some better ideas for you.

Hi @Outofsorts welcome. Ouch I know your pain. Has the gp referred you to anyone or a mri or xray? Have you seen a physio? You  can self refer to physio now.
Might be worth asking for referral  from gp  to see a specialist as its been going on awhile.
