Just a thought regarding travel to medical appointments, have you thought of checking with the hospitals General Office on whether you can claim travel expenses back? The Health Board where I work reimburse patients who are on benefits. It may be worth giving the hospital switchboard a ring, they can probably advise you either way.

Welcome to the community @dollydog73, and thanks for getting back to us.
I'm sorry to hear that you still haven't heard back, that's a shame, but hopefully it won't be too much longer. I understand why it is causing you so much concern, but please do your best to stay as positive as possible and take care of yourself as best as you can
We will support you on the community as much as possible too, so please feel free to post here whenever you like.
How are your physio appointments going? Hopefully they help you get better and enable you to tranistion back into work smoothly.1 -
There is sometimes a community transport service for appointments
Mine you pay qn annual fee of £6 and then a nominal fee per mile nowhere near as much as taxi
You can then book them to take you to appts , shopping, clubs etc
My hospital journey cost me 4.50 against taxi fare of £30
Try your local council for details or do search on Internet2 -
