Still waiting for assessment date

Hi all. I'm a new member here, nice to meet you all.
I'm just wondering about my pip application. I applied in Oct 21 sent my forms in on 22 Nov 21. Got a text to say they received it.
I still haven't had a date for my assessment, should I be patient or try ringing them as it's now been 16 weeks since first starting the claim.
Is anyone in the same time frame as me and can share their experiences?
Thanks for any advice.

Hi,You must mean you applied in Oct 2021 rather than 2022. 16 weeks is no time at all. We have many members still waiting several months after applying. The backlogs in most areas are huge. The estimated timescale from applying to having a decision is about 10 months, sometimes longer. You should expect an assessment because most people have them. Once an appointment becomes available they will contact you.Nothing more you can do but wait. Try thinking of something else in the meantime.0

Just received a text today for a telephone assessment on 9th march.
Pleased I've finally got appointment but also terrified too as my health conditions are mental health. My anxiety is going through the roof. Just need it to be over now.0 -
Hello and thanks for the update. I'm glad that you have received the date at last, but sorry to hear that it has caused you to feel anxious. It might be worth doing some preparation of the sort of things that you want to say during the assessment, perhaps you could make some notes about your condition and how it impacts you.lou51 said:Just received a text today for a telephone assessment on 9th march.
