I applied for PIP in December 2021, I am still waiting for a the decision, however I was accepted for LCWRA in March from January. I then received a back payment of benefit cap from 8 December. Due to the date it was back dated from im confused as to whether this would be due to the LCWRA or have I been accepted for PIP as that’s when I applied for PIP and just haven’t received the award and actual PIP payment yet? If it’s not PiP I’m confused as to why my benefit cap money was repaid that far back especially as you usually have to wait 3 months after you applied for LCWRA to get any payment?

Good morning @slc244 and welcome to the community, thanks for reaching out with your query today.

I've marked your post as unanswered and moved it over to our Universal Credit category so our members can share their thoughts more easily. I'm not too sure what the payment would be, but can I ask how far along you are with the PIP application, what was the last you heard from the DWP?

Do let me know if there's anything else I can help with in the meantime.

    Alex

There is no way for us to know the answer to the question asked. OP has correctly identified that there are two possible explanations. Only DWP can tell them.

The last I heard from PIP is that they have everything they need to make a decision

A decision may have already been made on the PIP. You can ring to ask and they'll tell you. If it hasn't then you'll know that it was the LCWRA decision that lifted the benefit cap.
