PIP award with a future date???

Hello Everyone,
I hope you are well.
Could you please kindly help me understand my PIP decision letter I've just received.
I've been awarded both care and mobility components and the letter says that my award will be covering period between November 2022 and September 2024.
I've claimed PIP for the first time in my life back in December 2021. I was advised by my GP that once a decision letter is sent, I'll get it backdated to when I made the claim.
How could the decision letter be made to award my PIP from November 2022 (several months from now) if I made my claim in December 2021?
I'm completely baffled and confused.
Has anyone else experienced a similar decision?
Thank you so much.

Most likely explanation is a typing error. You’ll have to ring them. Did you make the initial phone call to start the claim last November?0

Thank you so much for your input.
I made the claim in December 2021 following advice from my GP.
I'm worried that they'll say I need to appeal which then will take further few months before they rectify the problem :-(
I didn't call them in November so the dates make no sense to me at all.
Awarding PIP with a future date a few months from now is completely nonsensical but as I've never claimed before, I thought that perhaps this is how the system works?
I'll call them tomorrow. Hope I won't have to make an appeal due to dates being mixed up by whoever processed my claim :-(

If you claimed in December, it makes no sense why the claim is from Novemeber 2022. If you claimed in Novemeber 2021 then i would say it's a typo, which can and does happen.PIP are not open tomorrow because it's Sunday so you'll need to wait until Monday. They open at 9am and that's the best time to ring them.0

Good Morning @Alena and welcome to the community
I'm going to be moving this discussion over into our PIP category just so that it's easier to find.
I would encourage you to give the DWP a call on Monday as our members have advised, hopefully you can get some clarity.
In the meantime, please feel free to explore the forum, you can browse topics using our categories page, or visit the coffee lounge to get to know our members.
If you have any further questions, please do let me know, and keep us updated with how you get on.
