PIP success but confused with backpay

Hi, can someone please explain when my backpay will start from, is it from the date i applied or 4 weeks after for arrears, my first actual payment will be on the 24th of may which is in arrears so confused as to whether backpay is also in arrears, thank you

Unless you're transferring from DLA then your PIP payment will start from the date you rang to start your claim. You will be paid from then up until a certain date.Your decision letter will tell you everything you need to know and will include the dates your backdated money is paid from and up until.1

As mentioned above, it will be backdated to the date you initially called up to make your claim. Hopefully that helps to clear things up for you.1 -
Thank you for your help, it is a first time claim but they made a mistake on my award, they dated it from november 22 instead of november 21 so had to call them, they sorted it whilst i was on the phone but i didnt think to ask about backpay even though the lady said it would be in my account in 3 to 5 working days, to be honest im just glad its sorted0
