Carers Allowance said I'm not in receipt of PIP, but I am

Hi
In receipt of pip and applied for carers allowance but they say not in receipt of pip and have just spoke to pip who have confirmed award in place to 2025.
Does the carers allowance dept take a while to update the award notices which is why they think there is not a pip award in place.

    You can't claim carers allowance for looking after yourself. You can claim it for looking after someone else or someone can claim it for looking after you.

    Oops sorry 
    I should have explained myself, my first post was on my sons behalf who got the awardas he can't use anything like a computer and it  is myself who has applied for carers allowance as im his full time carer.
    Sorry for the Confusion

    No need to worry @Bella25 thanks for explaining for us :) 

    It sounds as though there was a bit of trouble with communication in the DWP, has this been sorted out now?

    I have no idea why they are telling you this, i've never heard of this happening before.

    Thank you for your replies, I will ring up carers allowance first thing Monday morning and hopefully get it sorted out as he is on the enhanced rate of daily living and will update to let  you know how I got on.

    Hi, I called carers allowance helpline this morning and gave all the dates of the award and the lady was going to pass it on to the relevant department so hopefully hear something soon.
