Hi people
just wondering if anybody can give an insight and feedback if possible I would much appreciate any help I’m just rather confused and as this is my first time on LCWRA I don’t know how this process works
I was claiming universal credit
my circumstances changed due to ill health so declared my first fit note on the
2nd of March 2022
I then received a work capability assessment form on the 20th of March and sent off same day.
on the 13th of may I received LCWRA
Does this mean I am entitled to any backdated payment as this is mentioned on my awards LCWRA letter I have asked my work coach and this is her reply 👇🏻

Please check the letter you received in your journal on 13/05/22, it states that 'the extra money is awarded from 3 month after the date you first gave us evidence of your health condition or disability, unless and exception applies' You don't have an exception and so will need to serve the waiting period. The assessment period that you first reported a fit note isn't included in the three month waiting period. No backdated money is due to you as the payments are not due to start until the next assessment period.

There will not be any arrears due.
What date is your UC paid on?0 -
Hi calcotti
thanks for replying
My first lcwra payment will be on the 26th of this month0 -
That means your monthly UC period (AP) is 20th to 19th of the month.
You reported the health condition on 2nd March in your AP Feb to March AP.
The three months of the waiting period are March to June
You will be entitled to the first LCWRA element with the June to July period payable on 26th July.0 -
Sorry I forgot to mention I first reported my health change on the the 28th of February then supplied my first fit note on the 2nd of March0

That's still in the Feb to March AP so makes no difference to the calculation.Xrp2022 said:Sorry I forgot to mention I first reported my health change on the the 28th of February then supplied my first fit note on the 2nd of March0 -

I understand that I’m not going to be getting any backdated payments but will I get my first LCWRA payment on the 26th of this month?calcotti said:You will be entitled to the first LCWRA element with the June to July period payable on 26th July.
No, not this month. As calcotti has advised, your first payment will be 26th July based on the details you gave above. LCWRA starts from the 4th assessment period, with payment being at the end of that period.
