I've originally filled out my claim form in April last year, maybe a little earlier, I have just had my assessment 5 weeks ago and it took them 3-4 weeks to text me and tell me they had my report and they'd have a decision within 8 weeks? Has anyone else had similar issues and could give me some advice because it's been ages now and it just seems to be getting longer and longer

Lots of people are waiting very long times for PIP decisions. You are not alone.0

Welcome to the community @callumhamilton98
I'm sorry that you've had such a long wait so far. If you take a look through our PIP category, you'll be able to see that you're not alone in your worries and frustrations.
How did you find your assessment?0 -
I thought my wait was long! I applied in November, had my assessment in may, got the text 2 days later to say they had the report, I had to call them 2 weeks ago to update my number and the lady said it had been allocated to a case manager, I still haven’t heard anything, maybe give them a call? I get too nervous to call due to my anxiety, but it may help you, hopefully you hear soon0

Hi everyone, as an update, my claim was put in on the 17th Jan 2021, I still haven't received my award letter however i have requested my assessment report according to the report I'm eligible for enhanced rate in both daily living and mobility... does anyone know how correct there assessment report has been to the award as I've been told its not guaranteed0

The Decision Maker usually goes with the assessment report but may not.0

@calcotti thanks for your response. I hope they do with my case and just to update the thread it has been 18 months in total since I sent my form off, I have called pip and they have said that my decision should be here between the 5/7/2022 and the 19/7/2022 so within 2 weeks tomorrow. I guess we'll find out0

I submitted an application Feb 2022, I got a text alert throughout the process. Received a face to face appointment via text,
Attended assessment last week in June I was very anxious and nervous even though I had someone to support me, I think my pain and mental health issues made this ordeal terrifying.I got a text alert the next day that DWP have received my report. I phoned and requested a copy which arrived the following week which the point indicator reflected enhance rate for both parts. And then 2 weeks after my assessment appointment got another text alert to advise they have awarded me PIP. I actually phoned and the advisor read me the decision over the phone. I received full enhanced rate for both elements.
I do agree this whole process is terrifying and the wait time can make vulnerable people more anxious.PS - the report even though in my favour, I felt some of the answers were inaccurate and shouldn’t have been 0, as in reality I was unable to do those things0 -
Hi everyone, quick update...
I have been on the phone to pip this morning and I have received my award of enhanced rates on both components. They have told me I won't get my backdated payment yet as it needs verifying by another manager because of the fact its a large sum of money (£11,600). They also said that it would take 4 working days to reach my account so that being said I should receive the payment of the £11,600 by the 13th July... just another week I have to wait even tho my awards been given... its ridiculous

That’s good news. It’s normal for a large payment like this to go to another person before payment is made. Once it’s been made it takes 3-5 working days to go into your bank. As you were told by 13th, hopefully it will be before that.0
