LCWRA. When's my first payment due? Will I get a backpayment?

Hi, looking for some help. 
I get my Uc payment on the 12th of the month. I handed my first sick note in January this year, my award letter came on the 20th June saying I'm now in the LCWRA. I asked on my journal when my first payment would be and was told in 3 months time and no backdated money due. I have read the 3 month period starts from your first fit note. 

Please can you help?

    It would be paid from either May or June depending on the exact date you reported your health condition because it has to be 3 full assessment periods.
    If they tell you any different then they are wrong, which really does annoy me the amount of times they can't even get their own rules right.

    Thanks that is great. I declared the change and first fit note on the 13th January. I have had no payments and they are saying I have to wait 3 months.

    That's not correct, it starts from when you first report a health condition. Your waiting period will be Feb/March, March/April, April/May.. LCWRA payable from AP 6th May - 5th June and first payment will be 12th June so up to now they owe you 1 month. It should also be included in this months money.

    I have just checked my statement and I have the LCWRA, but no backdated money 💰

    MOney owed will be paid separately from your usual money. Before they can pay you they need to recalculate your past statements. Once this is done they will work out what you've already been paid and what you should have been paid and the difference between the two will be what they owe you.
    Once this is done you'll receive a letter on your journal telling you how much they owe and it will then be paid into your bank. 1 month LCWRA element is what they owe you. If you were working at all since you reported your health condition and you didn't previously have the work allowance then they may owe you some extra money.

    This is what I received this morning. Honestly I don't get them. 

    Hi Amanda, 

You LCWRA was awarded from 06/06/2022 - Your current assessment period is 06/06/2022 - 05/07/2022 therefore first payment was due this month.

    Yes, payment is due this month but based on the information you gave here

    Yes the information is correct. But she is saying I am owed nothing. Honestly they are a nightmare x

    Then she’s not correct. Put a message under the payment section of your journal and tell them the date you submitted the first fit note. Then tell them that the waiting period is 3 full assessment periods so your calculations are that LCWRA starts from AP 6th May - 5th June.

    They DO know their own rules but they pretend not to, so as to avoid paying you what you are entitled.

    Many staff do not know the rules because their training is inadequate.

    UC staff have always been poorly trained, since UC was introduced.

    I have a very interesting story. 
    I received a message from UC that someone times ago, that they just realised I was paid too much and they want the money back and I had no right of appeal. 
    I politely wrote back asking why they didn't inform I have the rights to judicial review. They said they are not obliged to advise me. I never heard from them again. 
    They will pretend they don't know the rules when it suits them

    These people are not benefits advisers they are benefit administration 

    Yes they should have resources to check their own rules and do so unless they are 100% confident rather than make up an answer to get the customer off the phone
