Looking for a bit of advice I have just received a decision from pip. Got zero points on every single thing. i suffer from severe anxiety and on tablets for depression. i have only left the house 4 time since 2018 . In agony even if i just walk to my gate. I can't get in n out of bath. i have so many problems i could be here all day . When i had phone assessment i felt very uneasy at how the assessor was asking questions. I just had a feeling i would get my pip rejected . But to score zero on every single thing ? Now I have to submit an appeal so more time wasted. Just wondering if others have had similar? any advice on what to do as i don't know where to start.

The first step to appeal is to request the Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) You should put this in writing stating where and why you think you should have scored those points.Include a couple of real world incidents of exactly what happened the last time you attempted each activity that applies to you. Adding detailed information such as where you were, what exacetly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were. You should aim for at least half an A4 side of paper per descriptor that applies.The most likely outcome of the MR is the decision will remain the same because only about 27% of MR's are successful. Timescales are between 2-12 weeks, sometimes longer.

Hello @chev3971 and welcome to the online community, how are you getting on at the moment? Sorry to read about how your experience of PIP has been so far, it can come as quite a knock in confidence when you receive no points, but if you believe as though you should be entitled I would encourage you to fight on.
I have moved your thread over to our PIP category, which you might find it helpful to browse for any related discussions.
In terms of your mental health and physical health, it seems as though you have some challenges there at the moment. Do you feel as though you have enough support to manage those things? Such as from a GP, care team or loved ones. If you do feel as though things are quite difficult to manage at the moment, it might be worth getting in touch with your medical team to talk about how you are coping.
I hope you find this community to be a supportive environment, and fingers crossed it can be a positive outlet for you.0 -
Hi
@chev3971
How are you hope you are well.
I'm sorry your decision didn't come in your favour.
Alot of people on here will be able to help you in terms of doing a MR, and if need be a appeal.
Id like to say please don't give up, its a long road gather all the relevant information you need,focus on what descriptors you believe you should of been scored on. Start off writing a little bit a day then compile it all together thats what I did. Submit your MR, please do bear in mind that not all MR's are successful at this stage.
I know it can be very stressful. Please try not to think about it too much. Re start a old hobby or find a new one, spend time with your friends/ family. I started reading again. When I was younger I was a book worm and I'd hide in the bottom of our garden to finish my books!
I applied for PIP, and received 0 points in their decision, I did a MR and again I received 0 points, I submitted a appeal and resigned to the fact that ill be in for a long wait (it can take up to 6 months to get a appeal hearing date), and then unexpectedly i received a call from DWP and was awarded PIP. It was a call of offer, they had a certain date to respond to HMCTS and called me to award me PIP.
So please don't give up. Be prepared for a long wait. As someone said on this forum there should be a guide to filling out the PIP form, advice on understanding the PIP descriptors. and as @poppy123456
repeatedly says please read each descriptors and try to understand what they mean and how the scoring system works.this I believe is very important.
I hope you get the award that you deserve. Don't stress, look at it doing the MR as a task set yourself small goals, ie understanding the descriptors, writing things down, compiling it all, gathering evidence if you think it'll help.
Good luck. Stay strong. Stay safe & remember to look after yourself.
