Successful new claim - can I call to ask how much before letter comes?

I just wanted to share the positive experience I had applying for PIP for mental health reasons.
I first contacted the DWP on 17/06/22. Then filled in the online form, I had a telephone assessment on 08/08/22 and had a phone call on Wednesday 17/08/22 to say I’ve been awarded. So 8 weeks in total.
is there any way I can find out how much I’ve been awarded before getting the letter, I’ve had the text saying the letter will be sent within 2 weeks, and on the phone the lady I spoke to told me the back payment would be in my account within a week, but I’m just curious to know how much to expect? Did anyone else find out how much they’d been awarded before receiving their letter?

Hello @shannonwxx and thank you so much for sharing your expeirence with the community today

I think there's an automated phoneline you can call which tells you the date of your next payment, and the amount due:
PIP enquiry line
Telephone: 0800 121 4433
Textphone: 0800 121 4493
Relay UK (if you cannot hear or speak on the phone): 18001 then 0800 121 4433
British Sign Language (BSL) video relay service if you’re on a computer - find out how to use the service on mobile or tablet
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
You can try giving them a call if you like, otherwise I hope your award letter arrives soon!If you'd like to have a look around the rest of the forum, you're welcome to do so! You can find all the different topics for discussion in our categories page, the latest conversations in recent discussions, and you can get to know other members and chat in our virtual coffee lounge.
Please let us know if there's anything else we can help with and enjoy your weekend.

Hi @shannonwxx
If you call the DWP they might be able to tell you what components and rates you have been awarded. You will normally receive a payment before the award letter and you may be able to work out from this what you think you have ben awarded. Anyway congratulations and I hope you dont have to wait too long for your payment.1 -
Hey guys thank you! I called them and got the figures of the back payment and future payments, as well as the review date, I’m happy with the outcome and I’m surprised with how easy the process has been for me as I read a lot of negative experiences..1

Thanks for sharing that @shannonwxx
I'm glad that you feel you've had a positive experience!
I bet that's a weight off of your mind?1 -
Yes 100%, it’s definitely going to make things easier for me going forward0
